Christmas means the Birth of Christ. Lord Jesus Christ was born to this world for and on behalf of all human beings. Lord Jesus Christ, who accomplished a Noble Mission, by preaching the Gospel to all the people, Appointed 12 Apostles to the world. He did not stop from that. He appointed Apostles by appearing in this world also. When he appeared in the world for the 1st time, in Syria in Damascus, he appointed Apostle Paul. Once again on 7th February 1975, Lord Jesus Christ appeared in Katunayake, in Sri Lanka, and Appointed the Most Holy Apostolic Father, His Holiness Rohan Lalith Aponso, to the Most Sacred Apostleship.
The Most Holy Apostolic Father, His Holiness Rohan Lalith Aponso, who was Chosen and Appointed by Lord Jesus Christ Himself, Elevated the Midnight Christmas Holy Mass in the Apparition Church of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine on 24th December 2010. Mr. Dushan Anthony Senanayake of Homagama offered a Chalice which was made in France, to the Most Holy Apostolic Father, for the Elevation of the Midnight Christmas Holy Mass.
On that day His Holiness the Apostolic Father Elevated the Midnight Christmas Holy Mass from that Chalice which was offered to him.
