“This pandemic teaches us not only about funerals, but about weddings as well. Various rituals and traditions that are affiliated when performing those rites have gone over this pandemic, and it teaches us that those rites are worthless. This pandemic has made the wishes that many people have in performing final rites of a funeral, a mirage, and it teaches us to think critically how we should conduct our life journey.”
His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso proclaimed the above on Saturday evening (18th September 2021) when He offered the Rosary together with His devotees.
Holy Rosary was offered by His Holiness The Apostle in front of the Statue of Blessed Mother, established in Holy Apostles’ Peter & Paul Garden of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine. His Holiness offered the Rosary via zoom technology. Local and overseas devotees joined on this occasion with His Holiness from their homes via zoom technology.
This Special occasion was organized by the Social Media Unit of the Apostolic Media Network under the advice of the Director of Apostolic Media Network, Mr. Manoj Chinthaka.
The opportunity to join on this occasion via zoom technology was given only to local and overseas devotees who belong to Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, who are making an effort to live in accordance with the teachings of His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso.
The Most Holy Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso also offered a Special prayer on behalf of devotees by addressing the Blessed Mother, and at the end, addressing His devotees from the Apostolic Hall, His Holiness gave many advices to them to suit this pandemic period and also made them aware of many things and imparted His blessing to make them courageous to live their lives.
Speaking further His Holiness The Apostle reflected the following.
“Dear children, we should always get ready to face death. What is the meaning of getting ready to face death? How we should get ready? By wearing the clothes beforehand which will be used to dress your dead body? No! Getting ready to face death means, to attain the best place which we could attain after our death. For that, we should speak virtuously, act virtuously, think virtuously and should live our life journey virtuously. We have to live in this life journey in a manner that our life after death becomes a virtuous one. For that, we have to be attentive wisely on our own to think what kind of changes we should implement in our lives. If not, we cannot even imagine, not only attaining a place in Heaven, but we will not know what kind of a place we will get in Hell as well.”
