The Most Holy Apostolic Father, His Holiness Rohan Lalith Aponso is an Apostle, who was appointed to this world by Lord Jesus Christ himself, by an appearance in this world. Therefore, when you make an offering to him, it is just like offering something to Lord Jesus Christ. Because an Apostle means a person who was Chosen by Lord Jesus Christ himself from this world itself, as his Genuine Vicar, for and on behalf of all the people, in this whole world.
Therefore, it is a special merit to offer a Chalice to an Apostle for the Elevation of Holy Masses. Mrs. Sherine Imara Barry of Kurana, Negombo, understood this, and a Chalice was offered to the Holy Apostolic Father by her only little daughter Ransi Iyana, on 19th February 2011.
The Chalice was offered to the Holy Apostolic Father at the occasion when he celebrated the Holy Mass, in the Apparition Church of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine. On that day, His Holiness the Apostolic Father celebrated Holy Mass from the Chalice which was offered to him.
