The 57th Birthday of the Most Holy Apostle fell on 2nd February 2014. To mark the event, the Birthday celebration, organized by the Administrative Committee of the Shrine was proudly celebrated in the Shrine of Our Lady of Katunayake.
The Most Holy Apostle, His Holiness Rohan Lalith Aponso, was born to this world, 57 years ago, on 1st February, precisely at 12 midnight. The solemn High Mass, celebrated to mark the Birthday of the Most Holy Apostle was commenced at 11.30 pm on 1st February 2014.
Dressed in gold colour vestments, the Most Holy Apostle, His Holiness Rohan Lalith Aponso arrived serenely at Holy Apostles Peter & Paul garden of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine to celebrate the solemn High Mass. It was observed that the Shrine ground was thronged with devotees even though this solemn High Mass was celebrated in the midnight.
During this solemn High Mass, bells chimed throughout the Shrine ground, precisely at 12 midnight, to mark the birth of the Most Holy Apostle, His Holiness Rohan Lalith Aponso.
The Shrine ground and Holy Apostles Peter & Paul garden of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine was beautifully decorated with colorful lights for the Birthday celebrations of the Most Holy Apostle.
