A thanksgiving Holy Mass was celebrated in the evening of 15th February 2014, to thank God for their successful wedded life. This thanksgiving Holy Mass was presided over by the Most Holy Apostle, His Holiness Rohan Lalith Aponso.
The thanksgiving Holy Mass, which was celebrated on that day, was indeed a special occasion because His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, who imparted their wedding blessing, 20 years ago, also celebrated this thanksgiving Holy Mass, to mark their 20th wedding anniversary.
20 years ago, their wedding Mass was celebrated in the Apparition Church of Our Lady of Katunayake.
Yet, this thanksgiving Holy Mass, which was celebrated to mark the 20th wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Venerius and Selvin Fernando, was held in Holy Apostles’ Peter & Paul garden because the Apparition Church of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine is currently under reconstruction.
The 3 children of Mr. & Mrs. Venerius and Selvin Fernando also participated in the thanksgiving Holy Mass, together with other devotees.
During the course of this thanksgiving Holy Mass, Mr. & Mrs. Venerius and Selvin Fernando, together with their 3 children, came before the sacred altar and offered a Chalice to the Most Holy Apostle. The Most Holy Apostle, offered the thanksgiving Holy Mass on that day, by using the Chalice that was offered by them.
