“Marriage means one person becoming a dependent. As an example, it is similar to breaking two statues made out of clay, and making a mixture and sculpting the two statues once again out of that new mixture”.
His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso reflected the above on Saturday, 15th February 2014 at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine.
The Most Holy Apostle, who reflected the above when he delivered his Homily at the thanksgiving Holy Mass, which was celebrated on that day to mark 20th wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Venerius & Slevin Fernando of Munnakkara, Negombo, further explained many reasons relating to married life.
“We should well understand that there are people, who are entitle for a married life and who are not entitle as well.”
“Marriage is the biggest turning point in the life of a human being. Yet, if the marriage is unsuccessful, lives of many people will collapse. Marriage means a wonderful meeting. Actually, this getting together will happen for good and for bad as well. In certain marriages, those who should not come together are getting together. If that happens, their lives will collapse. Among those who are born into this world there are people, who are entitle for a married life and people who should not get married as well.”
“We should not pay much attention to those who are not getting married even though they entitle for a married life. Yet, it is most dangerous for those who should not get married to enter into wedded life”.
Mr. & Mrs. Venerius & Slevin Fernando, married in the Apparition Church of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, on 27th January 1997 and their wedding Mass was celebrated by the Most Holy Apostle His Holiness Rohan Lalith Aponso. They completed their 20thanniversary on 27th January 2014 and the thanksgiving Holy Mass, which was celebrated on 15th February 2014 to mark their 20thanniversary, was indeed a special occasion because the Most Holy Apostle, who celebrated their wedding Mass 20 years ago, celebrated their anniversary thanksgiving Holy Mass as well.
During the course of his Homily, which he reflected at this thanksgiving Holy Mass, His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso further explained many reasons relating to married life. This thanksgiving Holy Mass was celebrated to thank God for the successful wedded life of Mr. & Mrs. Venerius & Slevin Fernando, who have now become parents of 3 children.
“Absolutely, there is a story behind when a couple decides to get married. It is happening due to the attachment they had during their previous lives. This getting together could happen for good and for bad as well. This getting together could also happen due to the intention of revenge”
“Marriage means a decision which is taken once in life. This most important decision in your life should be taken cautiously. If you are hoping to take a decision about your marriage, then, you should not get excited. You have to take that decision wisely and cautiously.”
His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, who explained all these reasons relating to marriage, categorically reflected, “Marriage is the most dangerous bend in life.”
