A Holy Mass was celebrated on Saturday 22nd February 2014 in the garden, dedicated to Holy Apostles’ Peter & Paul. At this Holy Mass His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, reflected his Homily based on the word “Forgiveness”, a word in the vocabulary of every language.
“The word “Forgiveness” could be described as a virtuous word in the vocabulary of every language. It is a word, which has a deep meaning. It also has a great value. We have to use this word meaningfully. Yet, some people use this word meaninglessly.”
Continuing his homily the Most Holy Apostle reflected the following.
“Even though word “Forgiveness” has a great value, it has now become an improper word in today’s society. In our journey of life, we should not be a nuisance to others. We will have to use this great word “Forgiveness”, if we put somebody in trouble. Therefore, we shouldn’t be a nuisance to others. Then, there is no necessity to use this word. Certainly, word “Forgiveness” is an important word. It could be considered as a respectable word. Yet, this respectable word has now become an improper word in today’s society. If we use this noble word “Forgiveness” aimlessly, then it will become a word, which is about to come out from the mouth at any moment. Therefore, this noble word has now become an improper word.”
His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso further reflected that in 1962, when he was at the age of 5 years, he became aware of the meaning of this word as well as at which moment it could be used. He further explained how he gained that knowledge. The Most Holy Apostle who gave an immense advice to the devotees by explaining how he has gained that knowledge, further elaborated that from there onwards, up to the day of this Homily, (22nd February 2014) he has used this word “Forgiveness” only in 8 occasions. He described this with illustrations, thereby, further giving an immense advice to the devotees.
During the course of his Homily which he reflected in the garden, dedicated to Holy Apostles’ Peter & Paul, the Most Holy Apostle further reflected the following.
“We have to use this important word “Forgiveness”, very carefully. Hence we should remember how many times we have used this word. Likewise, we also have to remember the number of occasions we have used this word. If we have used this meaningful word “Forgiveness”, that means, we would have used this word because we have done some mistake or we have put somebody in trouble. Therefore, we should not be a nuisance to anyone. The word “Forgiveness” is not a word, which could be expressed to give an excuse.”
Addressing devotees who arrived from various places, the Most Holy Apostle further reflected the following.
“If we understand what is good and what is bad, then, we can gain entrance to Heaven. Therefore, we have to correct the mistakes we have done in our lives. We have to use our wisdom to conduct our journey of life because we never know when our lives will come to an end. Hence we have to make use of the time and the opportunity we have to correct the mistakes we have done in our lives.”
“Even though we read and listen to the Doctrine which Christ has preached, it is of no use if we do not conduct our journey of life accordingly. Certainly, if you frequently remember the Doctrine which Christ has preached and conduct your journey of life accordingly, then, you will not make mistakes. We have to inject this Doctrine into our hearts. It is the duty of all Christians.”
Finally, concluding his Homily, His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, gave a golden advice to the gathering.
“If you forgive someone then you have to forget the mistake he has done. If you ask forgiveness from someone, then, you have to remember the mistake you have done. You should not repeat the mistakes you have done. Yet, do not ask forgiveness twice for the same mistake. It is a human nature.”
