Human beings, who were then living in the world, oppressed Christ and made him helpless. Therefore, Christians cannot disregard the responsibility in helping an oppressed person. If you are willing to help a destitute, then, do not consider his caste or creed. Consider only his helplessness.”
“Remember, you are committing a sin when you are oppressing a helpless person who is neglected from the society. If you wish to commit a sin, then, do not help a destitute and those who are neglected from the society .Yet, remember, you will definitely have to face the repercussion for the sin that you are committing”
“You cannot evade the repercussion for any sin that you are committing.”
His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso reflected the above in Nuwara Eliya on the occasion of his 58th birthday, 2nd February 2015.
Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso is the 2nd Apostle, who was chosen and appointed by Lord Jesus Christ himself by appearing in this world, and the Only Apostle, who is presently living in this world.
His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso was born to this world 58 years ago, precisely at 12.00 midnight on 1st February 1957, at a private hospital in Negombo. His parents were the late Mr. & Mrs. G. C. Aponso, the wealthy businessman, who were then living in that area.
Even though Apostle Aponso has inherited a massive wealth from his birth, even today, he does not use devotees’ offerings for his own survival. Not only that, he even spend his personal wealth for the general maintenance of the Shrine of Our Lady of Katunayake.
His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso always spends his wealth for the well -being of the poverty-stricken. On his 58th birthday, 2nd February 2015, Apostle Aponso distributed clothes to the poor.
This time, this occasion was a remarkable event because His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, without any prior notice, visited those who were pleading for help on the roadsides, by alighting from his motor vehicle and by walking on the road.
This event was well organized by the closets assistants of Apostle Aponso since they knew that the Most Holy Apostle has previously informed that he will spend his 58th birthday 2nd February 2015, leisurely in Nuwara Eliya.
Accordingly, to mark his 58th birthday, his closets assistants organized a celebration precisely at 12.00 midnight on 1st February 2015, in the Nuwara Eliya bungalow. The Most Holy Apostle attended the birthday celebrations while the birthday song was being sung.
Nevertheless, on the following day morning (2nd February 2015), Apostle Aponso walked on the roads in Nuwara Eliya with his assistants visiting the poor. Yet, even though he was exposed to hot sun, the cold climate in Nuwara Eliya was a great relief to him.
Despite the fact that the Most Holy Apostle was hoping to spend his 58th birthday leisurely, yet, by the time he sat for lunch it was around 4.00 pm in the evening.
