The Statue of Blessed Virgin Mary, which is scheduled to be placed at a higher position on the face of the newly refurbished Apparition Church, was blessed by His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, on Sunday evening, 7th February 2016, at the Apparition Ground of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine.
The Most Holy Apostle, who arrived at the Apparition Ground from the Apostolic Residence through Sts. Peter & Paul Garden, was seen first of all remembering something, silently, before the Statue of Blessed Virgin Mary. On 7th February 2016, Apostle Aponso, completed 41 years of his Consecration to the Most Sacred Apostleship, by Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Therefore, it is definite that the Most Holy Apostle would have definitely, silently, remembered how the Blessed Mother has totally interceded on behalf of his Most Sacred Apostleship.
After few moments of silence, Apostle Aponso, lifted his arms towards the Statue of Blessed Virgin Mary, and offered a prayer for a while. Subsequently, The Most Holy Apostle blessed this Statue of Mother of God.
His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, after imparting his blessing, silently, offered a brief prayer before the Statue of Mother of God, and placed his arms at the feet of the Statue, and kissed the Statue of Mother of God.
