The 60th Birthday of His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso was proudly celebrated at the Shrine of Our Lady of Katunayake, on 2nd February.
The Most Holy Apostle was born, 60 years ago, on 1st February 1957, precisely at 12.00 midnight. The Festive High Mass to celebrate his birth anniversary was commenced at Sts. Peter & Paul the Apostles garden of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, on 1st February 2017, at 11.30pm.
His Holiness the Apostle celebrated his Birth Anniversary Festive High Mass on the Apostolic Tomb, situated in Holy Apostles Peter & Paul garden. The mortal remains of the late Mrs. Margret Aponso, the Mother, who gave birth to the Most Holy Apostle, is placed in this Apostolic Tomb.
During the course of his Homily which he delivered at this Holy Mass, the Most Holy Apostle His Holiness Rohan Lalith Aponso, reflected that the Mother, who gave birth to him 60 years ago, wouldn’t have even just thought that after 60 years of his birth, her beloved Son, as an Apostle, will celebrate his 60th Birth Anniversary Holy Mass on the Tomb, where her mortal remains are placed.
Continuing his Homily at his Birth Anniversary Holy Mass, His Holiness the Apostle, made a remarkable analysis on the topic of ‘When is the true birthday of a person’, and further explained how a Soul is entering into a Human Embryo in a womb of a woman. He further explained in details about the repercussion of carrying out an Abortion, which means killing children, when they are in their mother’s wombs.
