His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, the Only living Holy Apostle in the world, who was born to this world on 2nd February 1957, celebrated His 61st Christmas at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, on 24th December 2017.His Holiness the Apostle celebrated the Christmas Midnight Holy Mass, in the presence and with the participation of large of number of Devotees who arrived there from far away corners of Sri Lanka.
His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, reflected in His Homily, that this is His 43rd Christmas Holy Mass He is celebrating as an Apostle and further reflected that it is more than two thousand and seventeen years since the birth of Jesus Christ. Speaking further His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso reflected, that although Prophets predicted the birth of Jesus Christ before four thousand years ago. Jesus Christ received only rejections from the time He was immaculately conceived in the womb of Blessed Mother Mary.
His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, further reflected the following in His Homily which He delivered during the 2017 Christmas Mass Celebrations.
“For all of us, this is another Christmas. This is my 61st Christmas in this journey of life. Therefore, this becomes the 61st Christmas Celebration for me. As an Apostle, this is my 43rd Christmas. Therefore, you all should go home and take a count, which Christmas you are spending this year, when compared to your ages. “I was born on 2nd February 1957, when it was midnight of 1st. Accordingly, I celebrated my first Christmas in December 1957. Similarly, you all have spent your life, with every passing year, taking part in Christmas Celebrations, and this is another new Christmas in your life. We celebrate Christmas each year, marking the birth of Lord Jesus Christ.”
His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso continuing his Homily reflected, “When comparing our life time spent celebrating birth of Jesus Christ and the year we were born, we could calculate the number of Christmas celebrations we have spent. We can check if this is our 18th Christmas, or 19th Christmas or 28th Christmas or 32nd Christmas etc. Similarly, we have spent many Christmas days in our life time up to now”.
“The birth of Jesus Christ we are commemorating this year is not an accidental happening. It is over two thousand years now, from the time of His birth. Actually speaking, it is over two thousand seventeen years, since He was born to this world. That is an important event to be spoken as a separate subject”. “Now it is yet another Christmas in our life time. After celebrating so many Christmas days we have come to a certain stage, according to our age. Therefore, Christmas’ means the birth of Christ. It is now over two thousand years from the birth of Jesus Christ.” “It is not an accidental happening. Over four thousand years ago, Prophets predicted the birth of Jesus Christ, they predicted that a virgin will get immaculately conceive and give birth to a baby male child”. “So many predictions have been made regarding the Birth of Birth of Jesus Christ. These predictions were made not for a shorter period of time. But according to the Holy Bible, Prophets who could see and forecast the future, have predicted this birth, for over four thousand years ago. “It is over two thousand years that the birth of Jesus Christ was predicted and it took place as predicted. From the time of that birth that means from the time Baby Jesus was immaculately conceived by Blessed Virgin Mary in her womb, Jesus Christ only received rejections”.
His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso continuing His homily to the Devotees, reflected, “before Jesus Christ was born to this world, that is, from the time Virgin Mary immaculately conceived baby Jesus, Jesus Christ faced rejections. Leaving aside this fact, the rejection He received after birth is numerous, if we discuss it further, these rejections continued”.
“For moment, we will leave aside the rejections that took place before the birth of Baby Jesus, just think of the time She was about to give birth to Baby Jesus, She was carrying Baby Jesus in Her blessed womb and went searching for a place for Her confinement, but at this juncture also, people rejected that Baby.”
“After few days of the birth of Baby Jesus, King Herod was searching for the Baby to kill Him. When he could not find Baby Jesus, he ordered, to kill all baby boys who are 2 years old and who are under the age of 2 years. You all, very well know this story. After that Jesus was rejected in Jerusalem. Jesus was not accepted in Capernaum by its people. This rejection of Jesus continued so vehemently and vigorously till the rejection reached its climax, and Jesus was killed finally”.
