Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine is well and widely known amongst the people as a Sacred Shrine with regular miraculous happenings and having blessings and protection through Blessed Virgin Mary’s living eyes. Therefore, Devotees who visit Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine and offer prayers with devotion and faith in Mother Mary receive solace, protection and solutions to their life problems from The Blessed Mother Mary.
Blessed Virgin Mary has made Her live appearance at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, not once or twice or thrice, but twenty three times up to now. This is not only the Sri Lanka’s first Sacred Shrine where Blessed Mother made Her live appearance, but it is the One and Only Shrine in Sri Lanka where She has made her appearance.
The ‘Miraculous Prayer” is recited to the Blessed Virgin Mary, in Holy Apostles Peter & Paul Garden of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, every Saturday at 6pm, expecting Blessed Mother’s help. The ‘Miraculous Prayer’ has made tremendous changes in a virtuous manner on the lives of Devotees. The reason for this is many devotees feel that beloved Mother Mary is turning Her eyes always towards them.
People are eagerly waiting the dawn of each Saturday, to light ‘Blessed Candles’ at the foot of the Statue of Blessed Mother at 6pm. and offer the ‘Miraculous Prayer’, with love and devotion to the Blessed Mother. On 13th of January 2018 Saturday, at 6 PM also, some faithful Devotees gathered at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, to participate in the ‘Miraculous Prayer’ recite, conducted by His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso.
