His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso celebrated the Festive High Mass to Bless the New Year 2019, in the Apparition Church of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, with the participation of a large gathering of devotees, who arrived from all over the country, irrespective of racial or religious differences.

This was the first New Year Festive High Mass, celebrated in the newly refurbished Apparition Church, after it was ceremonially opened by His Holiness The Apostle Himself, on 11th August last year. This Apparition Church was built, by obeying to a request made by Blessed Virgin Mother Mary to His Holiness The Apostle when She appeared before Him in person.

62 year old His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, dressed in blue and white colour mixed sacred vestments, commenced the Holy Mass by wishing all those present, a bright and a prosperous New Year 2019.

Our Most Holy Apostle His Holiness Rohan Lalith Aponso explains about sins and merits not only for the benefit of our journey of life in this world, but also for the benefit of life after death. He teaches us how to lead a virtuous life. Addressing the large gathering that arrived from all over the country to listen to Him in the newly dawned year, His Holiness the Apostle reflected during the course of His Homily, on how to distance people from committing sins and bring them to accumulate merits. He especially reflected how we could treat and response to beggars who beg on the streets asking for some help from us. His Holiness The Apostle further reflected how some people accumulate merits and how some others commit sins on such occasions. He explained this with examples.

It was indeed significant to see many devotees happily gathered with great devotion, to offer, offerings to His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, in the New Year 2019. Devotees show a great devotion and abundance of love towards His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso.

His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso celebrated the Holy Mass in the Apparition Church of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, to impart blessings in the newly dawned year. His Holiness The Apostle celebrated the Holy Mass at the Main Altar, where the Most Sacred Cloth with the Foot Prints of Lord Jesus Christ is placed.

Devotees consider receiving Holy Eucharist during the New Year Holy Mass from the sacred hands of His Holiness The Apostle, is a special blessing they receive at the dawn of the New Year.

Truly, it is a special blessing for them to receive the Holy Eucharist, as their First meal of the newly dawned year from the sacred hands of an Apostle. They themselves have their own experience of this fact.

Devotees who participate in the Festive High Mass to bless the New Year, celebrated by His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, reverently hoping to receive the Apostolic Blessings, which He imparts at the end of the Holy Mass. They are aware that the Apostolic Blessings, which they receive at the New Year Festive High Mass, imparting by an Apostle, who has received the authority from Lord Jesus Christ to impart it, is indeed a great blessing for their journey of life.
