The marriage of Ranga Prasad of Ja-Ela & Sanduni Dileeka took place recently. Addressing them at their Wedding Ceremony, His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, reflected that despite the fact they currently have two separate birth dates, but from now onwards, they have to celebrate their birthdays together, because they now have a common Birth Date, for both of them, and their new ‘Birth Date’ is 17th January, the day they got married.
His Holiness The Apostle officiated their wedding Ceremony. Destitute mother’s and father’s, who have been neglected by their children and who are spending the autumn of their lives, attended the Wedding Ceremony of this blessed couple with tears of joy.
Some aged parents, who listened to the Homily, reflected by His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, addressing the newly married couple, The aged parents said, “What a pity! Our children also could have had the opportunity to listen to these words”
Addressing them, His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso further reflected the following. We constantly hear, the sorrowful status of ‘marriages’, which are taking place, spending millions of rupees by some people, to show they are affluent, but getting end up in ‘divorce’. Marriages of some husbands and wives end up in a court of law, thereby getting divorced publicly. Many other husbands and wives, despite the fact they are living in the same home, they are living as if they have divorced each other. Accordingly, 95% of marriages have been ended up in divorce. He further reflected when He thinks about it, it is His intention that there are 22 reasons for that. Nevertheless, He said since there is no time now, to explain all of them, He explained only 06 reasons to the newly wedded couple and advised them to live accordingly.
The newly wedded couple has been participating in the Liturgical Celebrations of His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, for a period of more than 15 years, and have listened to His Homilies as well. Meanwhile, they fell in love with each other. Many people commended His Holiness The Apostle sitting with the newly wedded couple as a Loving Father and addressing them cordially, as Son Ranga, and Daughter Sanduni, while reflecting His Homily.
