Last year (2018) midnight Christmas holy mass was held with the precedence of His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso at Apparition Church of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine.
The devotes from various areas that assembled during midnight at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine witnessed an incredible sight inside the Apparition Church. On the Shrine ground, the Nativity scene was made. An extremely significant place was readied to place the statue of Infant Jesus of Bethlehem, from which Holy Apostle grants blessings to the devotees during the midnight Christmas holy mass each year. After granting the blessings from the statue of Infant Jesus of Bethlehem, His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso placed the statue of Infant Jesus on that significant place with His own hands.
Above the statue of Infant Jesus, the crucifix of Jesus hanging on a cross was positioned, and below the statue of the cross, the statue of Infant Jesus was placed.
During the homily of the midnight Christmas holy mass, His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso pointed the hand towards the statue of Infant Jesus and proclaimed that, through the statue of Infant Jesus it shows the way Jesus Christ came to this earth. The Apostle also proclaimed that the statue above; the crucifix Statue of the cross does not show the way Jesus Himself exited from this world, but the way humans dispatched Him away from this world.
The Holy Bible was reposed between the Holy Cross and the statue of Infant Jesus. Mentioning the above fact, Holy Apostle stated that, even though the Holy Bible does not consist of all the teachings of the Jesus Christ; but to some extent, the teachings do exist on the Bible and Jesus expect us to comprehend them and live devoutly.
His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso raise the question on whether do we truly please the Jesus Christ at Christmas. His Holiness voiced that what really happens is, not pleasing Jesus but pleasing ourselves. What we do for Christmas does not please Jesus; Jesus will only be pleased when we precisely realize and start to live accordingly to the doctrine preached by Him, stated His Holiness the Apostle.
