On Saturday evening (29th June 2019) devotees from all four corners arrived to attend Miraculous Prayer recital hosted at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, Sri Lanka.
As customarily, the devotees assembled to Holy Apostles Peter & Paul garden in Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine attended the Miraculous Prayer with utmost faith. They pleaded in front Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Katunayake’s statue raising their written requests letters. This Miraculous Prayer which provides the immense assistance of Blessed Mother is recited every Saturday at 5 in the evening at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine.
Despite the fact it is the convention to place the letter raised in front of the Blessed Virgin Mary statue into the red box, at the foot of the statue in the end of the recital of Miraculous Prayer; it was announced at the end of the Prayer recital, on that day an exceptional opportunity is granted to devotees to place the letters into the red box.
That the devotees are given an especial opportunity to walk inside the Apparition Church to place their letter into the red box, at the foot of the Mother Mary Statue placed above the main altar. This announcement brought sincere joy to all devotees assembled.
The Apparition Church located at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine is a unique consecrated Church. Jesus Christ has appeared in this church, and the world’s second Apostle elected by Jesus through apparition was appointed in this Apparition Church. The shroud Jesus Christ appeared on that moment is placed in a secured glass casing under the main altar. Blessed Virgin Mother has appeared twenty-three times in this Apparition Church in the presence of His Holiness the Apostle, and amidst them the eighteenth apparition is extremely remarkable. The Blessed Mother appeared in front of His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, carrying Baby Jesus in Her left hand. This incident took place forty-two years ago, on 27th July 1977. The Mother Mary Statue representing this moment is established above the main altar where the apparition took placed.
This inordinately divine Apparition Church is only opened when His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso is offering the Holy Mass inside the Apparition Church or during the moments specially commanded by His Holiness the Apostle.
On Saturday, 5th January in year 2019, devotees were bestowed on a similar opportunity, and on that day the devotees were fortunate to go inside the Apparition Church and place their letters into the red box at the end of the Miraculous Prayer. Once again this fortune was provided to the devotees by His Holiness the Apostle on Saturday, 29th June.
It is extraordinary that devotees arrived to attend the recital of Miraculous Prayer on Saturday evening are given this opportunity without prior notice.
Devotees are staying immensely hopeful wondering about when they will get another opportunity to enter the Apparition Church.
