“As parents, you should not love your children by pushing them to extra classes or tuition classes as much as possible. Teach your child the secret of living with integrity. Bear the responsibility of creating them as good people, not as mighty people in this world. Do not forget, one day your child will die as other children. Guide them not only for life on earth but also to life in the other world as well.”

Further addressing them His Holiness the Apostle expresses as follows as well.
“Stay at a quiet place and think about your child for a little while. Who is your child? From what place did he come to you? One day to what kind of place will he go leaving you and even his body? To whom? …. Quietly think about these. Prepare your child for even that. From childhood explain them fear and shame to sin. Explain on merits and demerits. Detach your child from sin and guide them towards merits. Rather than the mother, the father who sends the child to tuition from morning to night, make your child walk on the righteous path by showing them the righteousness. That is the meaning of good parents. Look, when a righteous sermon is telecasting in the TV or broadcast in radio, which mother or which father say to their children; son or daughter come and see. A nice religious sermon is telecasting. Do the parents of present society endure the same effort to let their children know doctrine as the effort they put on to push children to educational competitiveness? Parents should always encourage their children in such a righteous direction. Good parents are not those who provide everything their child demands, not those who limit their children to books and education. The parents who teach their children the value of doctrine are called good parents.”
Further speaking His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso explained which parents can be considered as a good mother and a good father as follows.
“Many parents try to push their children to a competitive pathway in this society through education, to make them do a high-level job as a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer. But a fact to remember is one day in the future, even your children will end this life and die. It is a major responsibility of good parents to show them the path of the doctrine to win their life journey on that day, by making them understands the merits and demerits from childhood. The good mother and the Good father are the parents who act in this way. Therefore it is a must to make children understand to recognize the doctrine. Should show them the path to merits & demerits. A good citizen is born to society means the birth of such a perfect child with virtues and values. Through it this society becomes beautiful. For that, the guidance and life example of parents to their children since childhood is very important. Parents who guide in this manner considered as good parents.”
