With the participation of His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, the recital of the holy rosary was grandly held in Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine in Sri Lanka, on Saturday 21st of September 2019 at the Apparition Church where Blessed Virgin Mary appeared.
On this day, the rosary was offered to Mother Mary for the astonishing miracle performed by Her in the presence of thousands of people on Saturday, 27th of July. In the presence of the eyes of the devotees gathered at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine to attend the Miraculous Prayer in the evening, the Blessed Virgin Mary executed an astounding deed. Being alive in the Apparition church where She appeared twenty-three times at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, She emanated the Jasmine aroma continuously for hours from the Mother Mary statue placed inside the Apparition Church while allowing all the devotees to experience the excitement of that pleasant fragrance. This miraculous Jasmine fragrance not only spread over to Apparition Church but also to Shrine grounds, Holy Apostles Peter & Paul garden and without ceasing there, the fragrance even spread to both sides of the road in front of the Shrine for about a hundred meters.
This holy rosary recital was conducted to offer gratitude for Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Katunayake’s who performed a remarkable miracle such as this. The holy rosary recital took place with the precedence of His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso who received the rare, exceptional opportunity to see Mother Mary twenty-three times. It was a grand reason of contentment for the devotees. The holy rosary recital was held in front of the Mother Mary statue placed above the main altar of Apparition Church where Jasmine aroma emanated on the 27th of July.
Before starting the holy rosary recital, the devotees handed over flower bouquets to the divine hands of His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso at the Apparition Church and the altar servers, laid those flower bouquets at the foot of the Mother Mary statue. During this, a number of devotees lighted apparition candles in front of the Blessed Mother statue.
A large number of devotees were gathered inside the Apparition Church as well as in the Shrine grounds. The devotees have come from Jaffna which is the northern side of the country and from Galle which is the southern side. They have arrived to Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, not only because they know that Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine where Mother Mary exists performing many miracles is the most virtuous Shrine to plead to Mother Mary, but also because the only Apostle living in the world, to whom both Jesus Christ and Mother Mary appeared lives at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine.
