The responsibility of being exemplary to the baby to be born without defilements is bestowed upon the father and the mother while the baby in the womb says His Holiness the Apostle
Any woman conceived with a baby is termed as a mother-to-be. However that notion is not completely accurate. My opinion in this regard is that, once an offspring is conceived inside a woman’s womb she is not a mother to be, but the same moment she really becomes a mother and paternal father of this baby is not a father to be, he really becomes a father.
These were said by His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso on Sunday the 27th October 2019 at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine.
A great responsibility is bestowed upon the father and the mother, the same moment the baby is conceived. That is, the responsibilities of making that baby a disciplined child in the society. This responsibility is imparted to both the father and the mother while the baby is still in the mother’s womb.
His Holiness the Apostle uttered this, while he was addressing some devotees at Holy Apostles Peter & Paul garden at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine. This message was conveyed while His Holiness the Apostle was addressing Shrine donor member’s monthly meeting and when He was wishing a pregnant mother and the father of the baby to born, among the members who were present. These were a set of invaluable advices not only to the pregnant mothers but also to the fathers of those babies to be born.
“Four factors should be fulfilled for an offspring to be conceived in a mother’s womb. Those four factors are; first the mother should be healthy enough, secondly the father should be healthy enough, thirdly mother and father should have come together at the right time, really the most important thing happens at the 4th place. That is a soul should be connected to the creation of this father and mother. How successful the first, second and the third factors may be, if the fourth factor did not occur, and then there is no conceiving of a baby. You may have heard of couples, woman is healthy, the man is healthy, the three main factors are fulfilled but they are sad without babies. The reason is, the fourth factor been not fulfilled, that is a soul has not reached.” said His Holiness the Apostle.
This statement from His Holiness the Apostle can be considered as a set of advises for mothers carrying babies in their womb and to the fathers of those babies He further stated.
“Mothers and fathers of this newly conceived baby should remember that even though the three main factors were fulfilled and a soul too is also reached, the baby still not seen by us with naked eyes could be more or less a person with defilements. A soul without defilements will not come to this world. Once the baby enters the outer world from the mother’s world, these defilements improve little by little. The child becomes defiled gradually with this improvement. Therefore both the father and mother are assigned with the responsibility when the baby is still in the womb, to be exemplary to the baby so that the defilements would not be improved.
“You may be confused thinking how can both the mother and the father be exemplary to the baby inside mother’s womb so that defilements of the baby would not be improved but be tranquilized. Listen carefully. Remember well. The baby starts learning while in the mother’s womb. That is, baby learns from the mother and the father. The baby in the womb feels everything the mother hears and sees. All the thoughts of the mother affect the baby too. The baby is nurtured not only with the food consumed by the mother; every thought of the mother has an impact on the baby and the future of the baby. Therefore both the mother and the father of this baby should live happily and peacefully. Father and mother, don’t fight any time for any reason when the baby is in the womb. Father and mother, do not fight in front of the baby after the baby is born. If father and mother need to fight after the child is born, fight after baby goes to sleep.”
“Mother, read books which contain good things when you are carrying a baby in you. Watch things that appropriate to baby, showed on television. Father also gets involved in this all the times possible. Listen to sermons. When the baby is growing 3-4 months in the womb, father can get the beloved wife; the baby’s mother closer and talk good things to the baby. When father is not at home, mother, can do the same.”
“Finally, I would like to tell something to you with my experience. There is a very little chance now a soul with less defilement to come to this world. Finding such a soul is very arduous. You can think of the reason for this. The very souls that depart from this cruel world return to this world. If you think about this well, you will understand it.”
