The 41st Christmas Mass of His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso was celebrated as usual at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine.
The Christmas Mass, which was celebrated by the Holy Apostle in the midnight of 24th December 2015, was his 41st Christmas Mass, which he celebrated as an Apostle. His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso received the Divine Appointment of Most Sacred Apostleship on 7th February 1975. Therefore, by receiving the Divine Appointment of Most Sacred Apostleship, the Most Holy Apostle, has received the Highest Noble position that any Christian in this world could obtain. As the leader of Christians, Lord Jesus Christ Himself grants this Most Sacred Appointment. Fourteen persons have so far received this Most Sacred position within a span of two thousand fifteen years. His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, who is presently residing in Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, is the fourteenth person, who has finally, received this Most Sacred Apostleship.
These days the Apparition Church of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine is undergoing a refurbishing program. Therefore, the Christmas Mass was celebrated in the Apparition Ground of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine.
Dressed in gold colour vestments, His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso blessed all devotees from the “Statue of Bethlehem Baby Jesus”.
The remarkable event of this Christmas Mass was unveiling a Statue of Blessed Mother Mary, to resemble her 18th appearance in Sri Lanka. The Most Holy Apostle unveiled the Statue after he reflected his Homily at this Christmas midnight Holy Mass and imparted his blessing. The unveiling ceremony of the Statue of the Blessed Mother was held in a grandeur manner.
Miss Fatima Priyani Fernando of Seeduwa offered a Ciborium to the Holy Apostle, while he was celebrating his 41st Christmas midnight Holy Mass as an Apostle.
Devotees converged at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine from various places, in faith, to participate in the Christmas Mass of the Only Apostle, who is presently living in this world.
