Date: Tuesday 17th January 2017 Time: 11.30pm
On Tuesday, 17th January 2017, around 11.30 pm, His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso was returning to Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine after travelling to a certain place. The vehicle that was carrying Him was moving on the road opposite to Vihara Maha Devi Park, in Colombo 7.
When the vehicle was moving, His Holiness the Apostle, all of a sudden told to stop the vehicle. When the vehicle was stopped, the Most Holy Apostle alighted from the vehicle and walked towards a helpless beggar, who was on a wheel chair close to a pharmacy, on the pavement opposite to Vihara Maha Devi Park, looking helplessly.
Subsequently, the Holy Apostle asked the beggar why he is waiting there so late in the night and also inquired about him. The beggar told the Holy Apostle that he was suffering from polio from his childhood and is bedridden and now surviving on a wheel chair. He showed a prescription to the Holy Apostle and told him that he doesn’t have money to buy those medicines, prescribed by a doctor.
His Holiness the Apostle, armed with all the information, bought the medicine from the nearby pharmacy which was opened at that time. He bought a month’s requirement and donated it to the beggar and also made a cash donation to him.
The officials who are travelling with the Most Holy Apostle are able to see many incidents of this nature where His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso does unexpectedly. Yet, we were able to make this note, since Apostolic Media Spokesman Mr. Sashika Vishan took the images of this incident from his mobile phone. By this incident His Holiness the Apostle has shown practically, the True Doctrine of Lord Jesus Christ which Christ Himself has preached.
