His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso’s 61st Birthday fell on Friday the 2nd February 2017. He decided to spend His Birthday leisurely and quietly within the premises of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine.
But on the very next day, that was on February 3rd Saturday; at 6pm it was scheduled for Him to conduct Rosary Vespers and Miraculous Prayer Recital at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine. His faithful devotees had prepared in advance, to offer Birthday wishes and greetings to His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, on this day.
Accordingly, on February 3rd Friday, at 6pm, His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso entered Holy Apostles Peter & Paul Garden, at Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine gracefully. No sooner He entered the Holy Apostles Peter & Paul Garden, the pre-planned ceremony to offer birthday wishes and greetings by faithful Devotees, was put into action.
First and foremost, Mr. Suren Chathuranga of Governing Committee of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, started his speech conveying, greetings and best wishes to His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso for his 61st Birthday, on behalf all Devotees of the Shrine.
Speaking at the beginning of the occasion, Mr. Suren Chathuranga, said, “Dear Most Holy Apostle, in this journey of life you have completed 61 years of happy and contended life and entered the 62nd year only yesterday”. “Dear Holy Apostle, we wish you a new year filled with happiness, and joy, along with good health. We all who love you so much, we bring you this special wish.”
Speaking further, he said, “Dear Most Holy Apostle, The month of February is a special month for you. It is not because you were born during the month of February. It is because Blessed Immaculate Virgin Mother Mary, who came in front of you on 23 occasions, showed Her presence for the first time, on the 5th of the month of February in 1975”. “According to this, 43 years, since the appearance of The Blessed Virgin Mother Mary have passed and it is completing on February 5th of this year. Not only that, Lord Jesus Christ appeared to this world, in this Miraculous Shrine, to appoint you as His second Holy Apostle, or, in other words, His 14th Holy Apostle of the Lineage of Apostles, and this appointment was done on 7th February in 1975. Accordingly, Dear Most Holy Apostle, you are completing 43 years of dedicated service to humanity, as a Holy Apostle, who was appointed by Lord Jesus Christ Himself on 7th February this year”. “All of your faithful and loving Devotes are blissful in celebrating these Holy events surrounding you”, said Mr. Suren Chathuranga, completing his speech with much emotion and love towards His Holiness The Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, he said, We love you dearly Most Holy Apostle! We truly love you so much! concluded Mr. Suren Chathuranga.
