But today Christmas is not the day which Christ was born, but simply a day we celebrate Christ’s birthday. People who consider themselves as Christians what they do on this day? Well, you know what they do. For Christmas, they visit the cattle shed celebrating the birth of Christ. After a few months, they go to the cross celebrating the crucifixion of Christ. Cattle shed, cross, cattle shed, cross, cattle shed, cross. This is their life. This is their Christianity. This is their religion. This is the extent of their Christian devotion.”
His Holiness the Apostolic Father Rohan Lalith Aponso reflected the prior statement while He celebrating the Christmas Holy Mass at the Apparition Church of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine.
His Holiness The Apostolic Father Further reflected to the crowd at the Apparition Church and the Shrine Ground. The Holy Apostolic Father stated that these Christians identify the face of Jesus in statues and images as the holy face, only if the face of the Christ is bleeding, while bearing a crown of thorns with damaged teeth with painful face. “Therefore why isn’t the face of the infant Jesus holy?” questioned Holy Apostolic Father and He reflected that Christ’s face is always Holy; even in the time of His birth and even in the time of His death.
The Christmas Holy Mass commenced at 11.45 p.m. on 24th of December 2018. It was visible even infants, the youth and elders all attended the Midnight Christmas Holy Mass celebrated by His Holiness the Apostolic Father Rohan Lalith Aponso with uttermost devotion. They all listened to the words uttered from Holy Apostolic Father’s mouth with unshakeable faith.
The doctrine of the Christ is in between Bethlehem and Calvary, said His Holiness the Apostolic Father. For their entire life, many Christians run to the cattle shed and then they run to Calvary. His Holiness the Apostolic Father said that Christians going to the cattle shed and singing ‘silent night holy night’ for one day and going near to the cross and recite ‘Jesus we comfort you’ in another day, are only acts played to deceive Lord Jesus. Holy Apostolic Father questioned, Is it the Christianity? and He further reflected, How do we get the salvation in this manner.
